Snowy Owl Farm is special piece of property with historical charm & original structures.
Virginia couple Beth and Randy Russell blended modern & antebellum to create the ultimate weekend escape
for their three kids, two dogs... and a dozen alpacas!
Originally built in 1730, the farm became a part of the Russell Family in 2013. A perk of the land: George Washington's fathers original gravestone!
Beth and Randy wanted to keep the historic structure of the farm, while making renovations to suit modern day life. The kitchen is an upgrade to old hearth cooking, for example (though the swivel cooking pot still makes for a stylish fireplace decoration)!
Vintage historic charm, modernized. Courtney Bishop created a design masterpiece, inspired by the property's history and organic textures.
With the Russell family, comes adventure!
Meet Beth, Randy, and their 3 daughters Lily (16), Jaden (11), and Daisy (7), whom they adopted from China.
Oh, and don't forget their 2 dogs and the newest members of their family: 12 alpacas!
Farming is in the Russell's blood: Beth migrated to D.C. from rural southern Indiana, and Randy, a farm lobbyist and former chief of staff for Ronald Reagan’s agriculture secretary, hails from sod-busting Midwestern homesteaders.
Snowy Owl Farm became the Russell's home-away-from-home in 2013. They were yearning for a deeper connection to the land, and found it just forty-five minutes west of their suburban Washington, D.C., home.
